… blot ved at læse forordet … !

Jeg har selv i ca. 3/4 år gået og kigget efter ´den rigtige/perfekte´ løsning til et forum/weblog/diskussions-forum  der kan bruges som supplement til hjemmesiden for min første bog-udgivelse på siden : www.et-udbytterigt-liv.dk. Formålet er, at have et sted hvor læsere af bogen kan bidrage med deres mening, egne oplevelser, anmeldelser, feedback mv.

Efter at have læst bogens forord, droppede jeg (langt om længe … ;-) ) al tankegang om ´den perfekte løsning´, og istedet hurtigt at få lavet´noget der virker´. Samme aften fik jeg tilføjet en weblog/diskussions-forum til web-siden på kun 2½ time ! Og, lavede det hele selv, uden programmering af nogen art. Hertil blev brugt en slags færdig´skabelon-blog´, som ikke er teknisk 110 % perfekt. Og, vurderet i fht. den tid det har taget at lave - så er jeg ganske godt tilfreds med resultatet.

Blogging and knowledge sharing

The year is drawing near, and we think it would be not only interesting, but also make a good ending to the year’s Mikronet blog, to have a series of descriptions of how we Micros handle our typical working day. Of course, being a micro generally means that no day is typical, but I think it would be interesting to see what we have in common, and also what makes our particular business unique.

It will give us insight into each other’s work, and we can probably learn something from the way others cope with their daily tasks – a very broad form of knowledge sharing.

For example: ’A typical working day as a – journalist, beautician, conflict handler, designer, musician, coach, politician etc.

We are a very varied and professional lot of people, and I think that it is time we spread our message – we are here to help bigger and smaller organisations do some of their work in a cost-effective, professional and timely manner.

Please contact me for a password to the blog and a few general instructions as to format – it’s your chance to let others share your life; hopefully generate more interest in your business and increase the possibility of finding “kon-kollegas” within the network. We know this blog is read by many ‘non-Mikronetters’.

I’ll start the process with a description of my working day this coming week.

On-line visibility – ” Your virtual handshake”

I attended a really useful course this week – Abelone Glahn held a course based on her book “Dit virtuelle håndtryk” (Your virtual handshake”) reviewed on this blog by Lise Damkær.

One of the particularly good points (apart from the course itself) was the way that the 20 participants become involved, how the whole group interacted to mutual benefit. The time flew by, and although the course was intensive, everybody was surprised to find that the day had gone.

Before attending the course, each participant was asked to run a search on their own name, and the terms they expect  their customers (actual and potential) to use in order to find them.

Come to think of it – this will provide an useful  comparison with how visible we are after we implement the things we have learned!

We were then given comprehensible ideas on how to increase our visibility on the Internet – e-mails and homepages, web-logs, business net-works and participation in online groups. The course was focused on giving the participants a better understanding of how to use the Internet to increase their visibility on-line and, in short, how to use the web as an indirect, but powerful sales tool through presenting a professional image of oneself and one’s business.

Apart from meeting some interesting people, learning a great deal of relevant and useful things, the course included truly delicious food. I can only recommend attending any future courses run by Abelone.

And a very pleasant extra – after the course a couple of the partipants mailed the group saying how nice it had been to meet up and hoping to stay in touch. An incipient on-line network!

Borsen Mikro -A very informative new blog

I have just logged onto Borsen Mikro’s blog and been very impressed: It is professional, the blogging style is fresh and readable, and the topics are really informative.

Borsen Mikro launched last Friday – it is a series of books, a web portal with blogs and tools specifically aimed at micro-businesses, independents and free-lancers. The blog includes some English-language entries – similar to Mikronet.

The bloggers are Abelone Glahn (who previously blogged for Mikronet), Nicolai Seest, Trine Kolding, Femi Oshagbemi, Michael Carøe Andersen. Ulla-Lisa Thordén is a guestblogger. They have been busy – there are already several entries!

Boersen Mikro defines Micros as independent businesses whose tasks often are often work project based and time-limited,  which generally have several clients, and which has less than 10 employees. It should be of interest to most of us in the Micronet network.

I shall definitely be a daily reader of this blog.
